Monday Mix-Up*

Bear found a fun activity on one of our Veggie Tales.

You choose kitchen utensils, toss them in a bag, and then everyone pulls out the first one they touch.
Then everyone eats dinner with whatever kitchen utensil they chose.

Bobo wasn't very pleased with his pick. He got the baby fork.

Princess got the serving spoon.
Bear got the big, fancy, pearl handled serving spoon.
Popeye got the mixing spoon.
Hubs got the teaspoon.

And then proceeded to put on a show. While Princess took bites the size of the serving spoon she was using.
And Bobo took bites the size of the baby fork he was using. But everyone got the job done. And had quite a few laughs in the process.
Oh, and I got the ladle. And I also got to hide behind the camera. Lucky me.

*We so enjoyed this that we have decided to make it a Monday dinner activity. Hence the name of this post.

Happy 9th Birthday, Bear!

Bear turns 9 today. We are in Chicken Town so we celebrated his birthday when we celebrated Hubs birthday with Grandma and Granddad.

You might be thinking that his cake looks a little wrong. (Or you might not) The thing is, Bear doesn't really like cake. He tries. He wants to. But when it comes down to it he just doesn't. So I offered to make him something he likes instead.

Puppy Chow.

And we put trick candles in it. Hehe.

Ok, this is not as easy as expected. No worries. If at first you don't succeed- try, try again.

Whew, they're all out.
But wait, what's this? They all relit on their own!
Never fear! I will win!

Starting to get a little light-headed.

But I will prevail!

Bobo is enjoying this just a little too much!

But I'll show him!

Why won't these things die?

Die candles! DIE!

I'm about to pass out.
A little help, please?

Bobo finked out. NOT COOL!

That's it. I'm taking these guys out!

C'mon, people. I need to hear you!

Yes! I did it! Now I need to go lay down.
Happy Birthday, Bear! You rock our world.
Your smile, your eyes, your sweet sweet voice.
The way you have to make motions and sound effects when you tell us something. The way you need to run instead of just walk. The way you seem to fall down alot - in the weirdest places at the weirdest times.
You are ours - and we love you so much!

Happy Birthday, My Love

Hubs turned 34 yesterday.

It was a small affair.

Just us and his parents.

And a BUNCH of candles!

And he got them all in one breath.

That's my man!

Bridget

Gidget

Gidget is my parent's dog. They got her one year after I left home. They say they named her Gidget to replace Bridget in the home. I went with my mom to buy her. I actually chose her. And I must toot my own horn and say that I did a darn good job. She is precious and a full fledged member of the family now and I don't mind at all that she took my place in my parent's home. Because I know she'll never take my place in their hearts.

Now I'm just wondering when they're gonna get a dog to take Andrea's place? And what in the world are they gonna name her?

4 Years and Texting

It just starts too young these days. She can't even spell yet. But she knows how to text.

Not that we can read it, but she sure can.

It's also one of the special things about Aunt AJ.

Cause Mama and Daddy don't let Princess play with real cell phones.

But Aunt AJ not only lets her play with her phone - she encourages it.

Her iPhone.

Though Aunt AJ is smart and stays close.

Cause now Princess is starting to send texts to not just family, but some of AJ's friends as well.
Let's hope they know what she's saying.
