Baseball pt.3

Bear had his second game of the season tonight. We were the home team again. Very exciting game.

The games are four innings long or one hour. Going into the top of the fourth the score was 1 visitor -5 home. Going into the bottom of the fourth the score was 6 visitor - 5 home. We won the game 6 - 7! Bear was 0 for 2 on the night striking out both times. This game was on a different field and we didn't have this machine's number like we did last night. Bear is playing center field. He had a few balls hit to him tonight. He's always so excited after making a play. It's very cute! Swinging in progress.
Popeye played in the rocks.
Princess played in my lip gloss. A girls gotta look good around all these cute boys. ;-)

We also took Gigi with us. This was the first time I've ever attempted taking her anywhere other than the vet. She did great, which was a relief because any time a stranger goes in the back yard (adult or kid) she barks nonstop and won't come near anyone. She also went straight from the house to the van and back. She is a great dog and if you're new to the blog check these out.

Baseball pt.2

Bear had his first baseball game of the season tonight! And I forgot to bring the camera. No worries. I took some pics when we got home and he has another game tomorrow night so I'll be sure to get some action shots. Ist inning he hit the ball toward first and the first baseman beat him to the bag. He made the last out of the inning, but our team scored three points. Third inning he hit the ball toward short and short made the out at second. Also the last out of the inning, but our team scored four more. Fourth inning he popped fly toward third, but the fielder dropped the ball so Bear was on first. Next batter moved him to second. Next batter moved him to third. He was stranded on third, but the team scored 6 more. Yes, they won 13-2. The other team only had 7 kids compared to our 9. And we really have some good hitters. (it's machine pitch)
These are the poses Bear came up with. Batting, catching, running, and batting again.
We tried to get him to hitch his pants up so we could see his socks. But he wasn't interested. Liked em long.

Baseball pt.1

Here are two pics from our time in TN. The field was gorgeous. Very professional. I snapped this pic after the teams had warmed up and the grounds crew was making everything pretty for the game. This is the last year for the National Junior College Baseball World Series to be held in TN. Next year it will be in Enid, OK! (I took this pic from our press box) Here is RC doin his thang. He loves calling baseball games. Football too, but especially baseball. He does a great job and is really looking forward to next year.

Shootin' straight

So the truth is...I'm in a pit. For those of you who are Beth Moore fans you already understand. For those of you who are not, let me explain.

I am stuck.

Sometimes people are in a pit that only involves one area of their life. Sometimes the pit involves every area of their life. But the common factor for any pit (and a very easy way to know if you're in one) is that you are not living a victorious/obedient/joyful/powerful life that relishes the fellowship you have with the Creator of the universe.

and here's why I'm telling you all this:
1. I try to be as transparent as possible on this here blog
2. accountability

I am not despairing, however, because I know whom I believe. And He has given me the answer to getting out of the pit. I cry out to Him. I acknowledge my inability and depend on His ability. My God is faithfull and He will do it. And then...I obey.

I will not let this lesson go unlearned. You see, God freed me from the pit earlier this year. And while this pit doesn't feel as deep as that one did, I know it would not take long for it to end up even deeper. I'm not really sure how I got into that first pit. It doesn't really matter, but I know exactly how I got into this one. I walked. And I know every step I took.

It started with my time in The Word getting less and less until now, when I've gone days without being in The Word.

Some of you might not believe that my being stuck has anything to do with my not spending time in The Word. We all have a right to our opinions, but here's what I KNOW:

I spent the last month hardly in The Word and I am not pleased with who I am right now. I spent the previous nine months in The Word almost every day and my life was very different. Not perfect. And not always victorious. But if you've ever experienced what I am talking about then you know...it's just not the same.

Some of you are probably thinking "Well, she should have just listened to herself because being in The Word was all she used to talk about."

Yes, I agree. Funny how that happens. (but not really)

We're home!

It's good to be home. The kids are in bed. My suitcase is unpacked. And I'm ready for bed.

Thanks for all the prayers. They were felt.

Yesterday we just took it easy. Drove around town, did a little shopping, a little eating, watched a movie, took a nap, and enjoyed each other's company. It was wonderful.

God is so good.
